Dan Anghel has a PhD in engineering sciences with an interdisciplinary thesis in management, and also an Executive MBA with double degree from the University of Washington from Seattle and ASEBUSS (The Institute for Business and Public Administration – Bucharest). He graduated the Polytechnic Institute – Bucharest, Hydraulic and Pneumatic Machines specialty, division of Mechanics Faculty. In addition, he has postgraduate studies in economics at “Charles” University – Prague, Czech Republic, “CEE Privatization Network” – Ljubljana, Slovenia, and “Joint Vienna Institute” – Vienna, Austria. He is lecturing in the Institute for Business Administration in Bucharest (IBAB) in the Executive MBA program the topic “Leadership and People Management” and in the MBA program the topic “Organizational Behavior”. He was also an Associate Professor at the Building Construction Institute – Bucharest, the Polytechnic Institute –School of Business and Management (SAM) and in Exec – Edu.
CONSULTING ACTIVITIES
Dan Anghel was Chief Technical Adviser and Project Manager with the United Nations Development Program for “The Establishment and Development of Business Incubators” Program. For the United States Agency for International Development he managed 22 projects in 6 years, as Cognizant Technical Officer, Financial Team Leader and Project Management Specialist of the “Private Sector Development” division. One of his most important achievements for which he was granted the “Meritorious Honor Award” in 1996 from the US Department of State, was the “Development of Capital Markets” in Romania, a $26.5 million technical assistance program which established the RASDAQ market for trading shares of the enterprises privatized through the Mass Privatization Program (MPP).
He is one of the pioneer specialists in Romania’s MPP. He was the General Director of the National Agency for Privatization and its senior expert of the Foreign Technical Assistance division.
Beginning with 2001, he was President of the Board of Administrators, General Director, and Senior Manager for different companies, in different fields of activity, such as: United Grains, “Comcereal“ Alexandria and “Agricover” in trade and cereal preserving and conditioning services; “Sudarec” for welding services in railways; “IIRUC Service” for IT products commerce and maintenance; “D.A. Pro Consulting” and “Kantor Management Consultants” Greece, for private and public sector consulting services.
RESEARCH INTEREST AREAS
Author of the postgraduate course in change management “Performance Improvement Program for Companies” accredited by the Ministry of Education in 2012 and favorably received and successfully tested by the management of large enterprises, as well as SMEs.
Author of two Patents – High Pressure Pumps, successfully implemented in centralized lubrication systems for heavy machine tools and aluminum industry.
He is also author and co-author of more than 50 articles for international conferences, academic courses and complex projects in various fields, such as: privatization, capital markets, engineering, agriculture, management consulting and EU structural funds.
