PROFILE

Ovidiu has  25 years of experience in teaching within the Executive MBA and Entrepreneurial MBA programs. Ovidiu was trained at Harvard Business School in the Central Eastern European Teachers Program (CEETP) and at the prestigious Wharton Business School, of the University of Pennsylvania, where he attended another customized program for professors from CE Europe, a program called Wharton Emerging Economies Program in finance and banking. He also attended at Targeted Auditors Program in Atlanta, USA, during his business experience with Eli Lilly and Company and having then some other training programs in finance, in human resources and presentation skills in Geneva, London, Vienna and Budapest. The practical character and teaching style of the courses in which Ovidiu gets involved is due to his managerial experience of over 15 years in renowned companies. Ovidiu is a chartered accountant since 1999 and holds a PhD in finance and insurance. He is a founding member of the ASEBUSS Foundation.

Ovidiu taught in the Executive MBA program between 1993 – 2003, and resumed his teaching activity in 2011 when he took over the Dean position. Since November 2018 Ovidiu was elected as Rector of ASEBUSS.

CONSULTANCY ACTIVITIES

Ovidiu is a Board Member in the Chamber of Commerce Switzerland-Romania. Ovidiu was part of top management teams in a number of companies from various sectors in Romania, either multinational or local, acting as Finance Director or CFO for Eli Lilly & Company in Romania, Bulgaria and FR of Yugoslavia, Topway Industry, Arctic then Arcelik, Flanco Holding, Infopress Group, Lowe and Partners. He was a member of the Board of Directors at the AIG Pension fund, in the first four years since launching. Ovidiu also is actively participating as Mentor in the annual mentorship programs organized by the Professional Women Network Romania.

RESEARCH INTEREST AREAS

He was included in Who’s Who encyclopedia in 2002 and is the author of two books on financial management and over 20 scientific papers and newspaper articles.

His research started beginning of 90’s, when he was Scientific Researcher at The Institute for Quality of Life, within the National Institute for Economic Research, whereas he was attracted by subjects as income distribution over population, the economic development impact over living standards.

After moving in the higher education area and business education, he mostly focused on typically finance field, such as investments and financing decision, finance management, new technology and new generations, new paradigm in finance, banking and financial services, fintech as well as business transformation topics.
