National Sales Manager ASTRAZENECA Executive MBA Alumni 2014I have already recommended this program, and now two of my colleagues are students in the first year. And I will continue to recommend this EMBA to any manager who, after some years of experience, wants to take a (complete) look over the business environment. The EMBA can help you learn how to excel at your current job or it can be a promotion opportunity for your own company, it can help you extend your own business, even globally, or it can help you establish a new one. And, let’s not forget, I recommend this EMBA to anyone who wants to expand their own personal knowledge network.
THE EMBA CAN HELP YOU LEARN HOW TO EXCEL AT YOUR CURRENT JOB OR IT CAN BE A PROMOTION OPPORTUNITY FOR YOUR OWN COMPANY
I have decided to enrol in an EMBA program in the beginning of 2012. At that point I had some years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry, in sales and marketing to be more precise, and I decided that it is time for me to find out how a business is made, if I really wanted a career in business. I could have asked my co-workers all about it, or I could have read various books and websites. But could I have really learned all that was important? I have no idea. That is the reason why, in the end, I have decided that the best solution was the turnkey one: an EMBA program.
The desire to know more about business was very strong, but continuously there was someone – or something – that kept asking me: “Is it okay what you are doing? Are you willing, two years from now on, to allocate one day a week – except for holiday – for attending courses?” In the end, after weighing up the pros and cons, the conclusion was that the program is an important investment which I have to make.
Choosing ASEBUSS was easy; I had some colleagues which have graduated the program, or were about to, and they helped me get an idea about ASEBUSS. From my perspective, the program’s strengths were represented by the professors, which have practical and theoretical management experience in both local and international business environment, the possibility to have experienced managers as classmates and, let’s not forget, the opportunity to have direct collaborations with American colleagues in the second year of study – which caught my attention.
To be able to have a perfect balance between study, work and personal life was a very hard task to accomplish. I wanted to read all the study materials that we received, but I rarely had enough time to do so. Luckily, the manner was discussed before and we had weekly group meetings, during which we had to prepare a case study or various exercises for the next course. And you always had your lesson learned at the end of every session when there was a professor attending.
If I had to say how this EMBA program helped me in my career, I would probably need to have a space reserved in every issue of this magazine for the next two years. But, on the other side, the answer is easy: it helped me a lot. After I graduated it happened to me a few times that for an issue at my workplace I had to use the books received from the program, or the notes I took during the courses.
